The Army STARRS Research Team

The Steering Committee unites experts in:
  • military health
  • health and behavior surveys
  • epidemiology
  • suicide
  • genetic and neurobiological factors involved in psychological health
  • research program oversight and implementation

The Army STARRS team of investigators and scientists, led by Robert Ursano, M.D., of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and Murray Stein, M.D., M.P.H., of the University of California, San Diego, includes researchers from:

  • Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences
  • Harvard Medical School
  • University of Michigan
  • University of California, San Diego

The research team includes scientists from:

  • The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)

Many other experts work with the Army STARRS investigators and scientists to make this work possible. They include:

  • A Study Director and Program Officer from NIMH who provide oversight and management
  • An Army Executive Director who provides oversight and manages the study for the Army
